Our Story

MEET PAUL & ANNA…

Anna is a business owner with a heart for people around the world. Paul is a bivocational nonprofit leader and theater artist.

IT ALL STARTED WHEN…

We matched on a dating app (Coffee Meets Bagel) and then met in person on a February rainy day. From that first date, we found a deep kindredness, and met up at least twice a week for the next few months (which is a lot, given that we live 50 miles apart from each other). We quickly discovered an undeniable connection, chemistry, and compatibility, and knew that we had something special.

Paul proposed to Anna in a bookstore in August - he wrote a sonnet and tucked it inside a book we had talked about on our first date - and we’ll be getting married a little more than a year after that first date. But beyond that one year is a backstory of the decades of preparation for this moment: our commitment to faith, our investment in others, our love of creativity, and many no’s to different opportunities and people in the past in the belief that we would find the right partner at the right time.

OUR WEDDING AND NEW HOME…

We’re getting married this February in Los Angeles. And we've been thoughtful and intentional about creating an experience that is simple but focused on the celebration of our love, the people who have loved us, and the beginning of our life together.

At the same time, we’re currently searching for a new apartment in the greater Los Angeles area. We’d appreciate your prayers as we find a space for rest, love, hospitality, and joy!

Ultimately, we’ve chosen to focus on building towards a marriage rather than merely preparing for a wedding. (That said, we’re really excited for our wedding too)! As you might imagine, there’s a lot happening!

We are so grateful for the people who have loved us to this moment, and for the wisdom we continue to receive as we make the transition from single to married life!
